Bonk is a cryptocurrency based on Solana, featuring a Shiba Inu as its unique image. The project aims to become the top community coin in web3. Bonk gained widespread attention with its Christmas 2022 airdrop, which rewarded Solana community members who survived what the Bonk team described as a challenging year. As of January 2024, the project boasts 118 integrations and lists the following features as its “Key Projects.”
History
Bonk was launched on December 25, 2022, to uplift the spirits of the Solana community members when the sentiment surrounding Solana’s price was at an all-time low. In January 2023, BONK attained a high of over 400,000 token holders and emerged as the most traded token on Solana after SOL and USDC.
Around a year later, the project team introduced two new products, BonkBot (December 14, 2023) and BonkSwap (December 15, 2023). The BONK token is still active on Solana and has been bridged to other popular platforms, including Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, and Arbitrum.
